GEL PRESENTATION:
Each gel contains:
Clindamycin Phosphate 1.0% w/w
Nicotinamide 4.0% w/w

This composition is used in the treatment of acne vulgaris (lesions) produced by the bacteria and also have anti-inflammatory effect.

- Acne vulgaris
- As antimicrobial for streptococcal infection
- Bacterial vaginosis

Clindamycin inhibits the 23s ribosomal unit of RNA and inhibits the process of formation of protein synthesis.
Niacinamide blocks the degranulation of mast cells and inhibit the release of protease from the leucocytes or inhibit prostaglandin synthesis

Clindamycin-
Clindamycin is the lincosamide antibiotic. It is effective against anaerobic, gram positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria
Nicotinamide-
It is called as vitamin B3 or niacinamide
Niacinamide is a form of vitamin -b3 and is used to prevent and treat pellagra, pellagra can cause Diarrhea, loss of memory, redness and swelling, and peeling of the skin.
Niacinamide is widely use than niacin because it causes lesser side effects (e.g., flushing)

- Yellowing of the skin and nails
- Rashes
- Peeling of the skin
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Bradycardia
- Dizziness

- Contraindicated in enteritis
- Contraindicated in ulcerative colitis
- Contraindicated during second and third trimester of pregnancy
